Empowering the South: Green Economies and Climate Resilience

We did it!

Finally, after 6 months of high hopes, hard work, and constant planning. On October 26th, 2022 we celebrated Enroot’s first Batch of MASAAR program Graduates in a spectacular Event #EmpoweringTheSouth.

34 Startups from #Upper_Egypt have completed their incubation cycle at MASAAR program, all of which have established environmentally friendly businesses.

Enroot’s “Empowering The South: Green economies and climate resilience” event acted as a platform for key decision-makers and development partners to exchange knowledge and create a space for development stakeholders to network.

The event came prior to the launch of the Climate Conference (COP27) hosted by Egypt. It aimed to create a platform for all those interested in the field of development and discussed the ability to adapt to climate changes,finally it shed light on the owners of green businesses emerging from southern Upper Egypt.

The Event was held under the auspices of the Ministry of International Cooperation and in the presence of H.E. Dr.Rania A. Al-Mashat-Minister of International Cooperation, Mahmoud Mohieldin- UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for Egypt and Dr. Ziad Bahaa-Eldin, former Deputy Prime Minister.

MASAAR is supported and funded by Drosos Foundation, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Egypt, and the New Zealand Embassy.

The program is also implemented with the cooperation of Aswan, Luxor, South Valley, and Sohag Universities.

The graduation of (34) start-ups from MASAAR entrepreneurship program in upper Egypt. All of which have established environmentally friendly businesses.
