
Visit of the European Union Delegation to the “Seeds for the Future” and “Helmak” Projects

The governorate of Luxor witnessed a distinguished visit from a delegation of the European Union to the “Seeds for the Future” project, funded by the European Union through the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation in Egypt, and “Helmak,” funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation in collaboration with the Cideal Foundation, both implemented by Enroot.
The visit was inaugurated by Dr. Reem Mehanna, Enroot’s Technical Director, who provided an overview of the goals and objectives that both projects aim to achieve.
This was followed by a comprehensive presentation about the “Seeds for the Future” project by the Enroot team, who shared valuable information about the steps taken so far and the announcement of the start of the project’s information sessions.
Enroot also presented the main findings from the baseline studies in a detailed presentation by Ms. Lamis Koura.
The National Council for Women and the Um Habiba Foundation, which are implementing branches of the project in Luxor, also provided information about their activities related to the project.
The visit included a practical demonstration of the training-of-trainers model, allowing the delegation to learn about the training methodology used in the projects. The delegation also had the honor of meeting Professor Dr. Sabreen Abdelgalil, President of Luxor University, where they discussed avenues for cooperation between the university and the European Union, as well as Spanish cooperation in the field of academic research.
The visit concluded with a fruitful meeting with participants in the “Helmak” incubator. Enroot presented a detailed overview of rural tourism, which the project aims to develop, along with the objectives of the “Helmak” project that it seeks to achieve by the end of the year.
During the visit, Mr. Montaser Abdel Rahim explained how to collaborate with the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency in connection with Enroot’s projects within the governorate. Participants in the “Helmak” incubator were also given the opportunity to showcase their products and projects to the delegation, reflecting the spirit of innovation and creativity that characterizes these initiatives.
