About Voices for Change

Voices for Change Podcast is an initiative from Enroot Development. The podcast is a thoughtfully designed communication platform that raises awareness about important issues affecting our communities. By featuring diverse voices and perspectives, it helps translate complex challenges into shared understanding, encouraging listeners to engage with practical solutions and proactive ideas. Through human-centered storytelling, each series tackles an issue and engages the public and key actors in constructive dialogue, encouraging participation, collaboration, and actionable solutions.

The first series is Clime Up which addresses different topics in agriculture, with a primary focus on climate change and water resource management. The series aims to educate and engage audiences on sustainable water irrigation practices and the intersection of agriculture and climate resilience.

Clime Up- Season One

We are thrilled to introduce Clime Up, our new podcast, which focuses on key topics in smart agriculture and climate resilience. The podcast is hosted by Dr. Hany El Salamony, Co-founder and CEO of Enroot Development Stay tuned for insightful conversations and expert perspectives that will deepen your understanding of the future of agribusiness. In the first episode, the podcast features Dr. Ayman El-Sayed, Former Head of the Mechanical and Electrical Department at the Ministry of Water Resources and irrigation, who discusses the effects of climate change on Egypt’s agricultural sector and explores possible solutions to ensure the sustainability of agriculture for future generations.

In the second episode, the podcast features Dr. Mohamed Al-Sebaie, former Deputy Chairman of the Agriculture and Irrigation Committee in the Senate. The episode discusses agricultural legislations and policies in Egypt and their impact on agricultural sustainability.

In the third episode, the podcast features Engineer Khaled El-Haggan, Chairman and Managing Director of El-Haggan Group. The epiosde discusses the role of the private sector in agricultural development, assisting small farmers, and maintaining the sustainability of our resources.

In the fourth episode, the podcast features Engineer Laila Qenawy, Agricultural engineer and program manager. The episode showcases a successful model of a woman who studied agricultural sciences in Germany and how she manages her farm herself, applying what she learned abroad to Egypt.

In the fifth episode, the podcast features Eng. Khaled Shedeed, a specialist in food safety and an expert in food legislation and quality infrastructure. The episode focuses on the concepts of food safety and food security, as well as the impacts of climate change on these two areas.

In the sixth episode, the podcast features Eng. Sanaa Abdel-Rasheed, Deputy Head of the Irrigation Authority for Water Management Development and Head of the Horizontal Expansion and Projects Sector. The epiosde discusses how to manage water wisely in agriculture and how we can adopt climate-smart agricultural practices.

In the seventh episode, the podcast features Dr Tameem El Dawy, Deputy Executive Director and Head of the Export Information Department at the Food Export Council. The episode highlights the export process and explains why some products make it to global markets while others don't.

Clime Up- Season Two

In the first episode of season 2, the podcast features Dalia Kabeel, Co-founder of Food Africa Exbibition and Konzept Exbibitions Company, who discusses the impact of international food exhibitions and how they create real opportunities for participants

In the second episode of season 2, the podcast features Dr. Akmal Nagaty, Current Member of Parliament and former Member of the Senate, who discusses the agriculture cooperatives and his study "Bank of Missing Opportunities".

In the third epiosde of season 2, the podcast features Reham Fouda, co- founder and vice chairman of the board of directors of Ethhmar Green who shares the inspiring success story of Ethmar Green in the Siwa oasis, highlighting how empowering and supporting women workers played a key role in the company’s growth and impact.

In Episode 4 of Season 2 of Clime Up Podcast, we are joined by Dr. Nevine Iskandar, Member of the Egyptian House of Representatives, to discuss the pivotal role of rural women in supporting Egypt's agricultural sector. Throughout the episode, we explore how rural women contribute across the entire agricultural value chain—from preparing their households for planting and harvest seasons, to actively participating in agricultural production, and ultimately helping bring crops to market. We also discuss their vital role in strengthening food security and driving the rural economy.
